A traffic road along the embankment of Lake Bohinj, together with a number of parking spaces, separates the shore from the Pod Skalco event venue. The municipality of Bohinj wants to calm traffic in the area and transform the embankment into a public space for pedestrians. To slow down traffic and offer an alternative use for the parking lot, we designed a red canopy that framed the view of the lake for two weeks. Chairs and tables invited passers-by to sit and enjoy one of the most beautiful views on this part of the lake.

The intervention was set up with minimal resources and with minimal use of new material. The construction was based on kayak stands lent to us by the local association, and we used chairs and tables from Prostorož's inventory.

At the end of the event, the canopy also served as a venue for a public debate on the proposal of a new municipal spatial development plan for the area "Pod skalco" and the development of the bay with a boathouse on the lake shore.

The canopy was set up as part of the 2021 European Mobility Week.
